Jacqueline Wilma Jeffery
Jacqueline Jeffery passed away peacefully, surrounded by family at The Moncton Hospital on the afternoon of February 24th, 2010, after a lengthy illness. Jackie was born in Jacquet River on July 18th, 1938, daughter of the late John Raymond Stanger and Catherine Winton Stanger. Jackie was married on September 24, 1960, in Moncton, and is survived by her husband Reginald of Moncton, NB, sons Robert of Fredericton and William (Shirley-Anne Off) of Ottawa, daughter Debora (Mark Higgins) of Moncton, grandchildren Alexandra, Lucy, Jackson, Luke, Elliott, Mason, Harris and Georgia. Jackie is also survived by her two sisters Althea Young of Moncton and Jean Dallaire (Raymond) of Aboiteau, NB. In addition to her parents she was predeceased by her sister Dorothy Deering of Toronto. Jackie will also be missed by her sister-in-law Kathleen Jeffery of Youngs Cove, NB. Jackie’s loving, generous and kind nature, and cheerful sense of humour will be dearly missed. Jackie was a devoted wife, a doting mother, an adoring grandmother, a loving sister & daughter and supportive friend. She was always compassionate and considerate to those around her. Her infectious laugh and boundless love of children were legendary. The family would like to extend a warm and heartfelt thank you to Reverend Chris VanBuskirk, of St. George’s Anglican Church, for his constant support, kindness and spiritual leadership. Chris visited Jackie every single day for the past several weeks, and provided the family with a great deal of comfort during this very difficult time. Visitation will be held at Cadman Bowness Funeral Home (857-1110) 114 Alma Street Moncton on Thursday March 4th, from 2-4PM and 7-9PM. The Funeral will be held Friday, March 5th, at 1:30PM at St. George’s Anglican Church, located at Church and Queen Streets, Moncton followed by a reception in the church hall. Interment will take place in the All Saints Church Cemetery, Youngs Cove, later in the spring. Arrangements are under the direction of Cadman Bowness Funeral Home, Moncton. |

Alton Earle Stevenson 1930 – 2010 The death of Alton Earle Stevenson, husband of Jessie, of Redmond Street Moncton occurred at The Moncton Hospital on Monday February 15th 2010. Born in O’Dell, NB on March 23 1930 he was the son of the late Nelson and Mary (Wright) Stevenson. Alton had served in the Royal Canadian Air Force as an Electronic Technician for 20 years prior to his retirement after which he worked as a TV Technician and with the Corp of Commissionaires. In addition to his wife Jessie (Jobe) he is survived by his children Mary Ann Barry of Toronto, Agnes Pellerin (Norm) of Notre Dame, Lawrence (Paulette) of Moncton, Earle Lester (Donna) of Edmonton, Alton James (Heather) of Moncton, his sisters Ethel of Fredericton and Edith of Ontario. He is also survived by 9 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Resting at Cadman Bowness Funeral Home (857-1110) 114 Alma Street Moncton with visiting hours on Wednesday evening February 17th from 7 to 9. Funeral service will be held on Thursday February 18 at 1 pm in Cadman Bowness Funeral Home. Donations in Alton’s memory may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, the Multiple Sclerosis Society or the memorial of the donor’s choice. Shaun Sawyer 1980 – 2010
The death of Shaun Sawyer of Moncton occurred at The Moncton Hospital on Saturday February 13, 2010 from injuries received in a car pedestrian accident. Born in Moncton May 9th 1980 he was the son of Art and Mim (Martin) Sawyer. The World’s Greatest Dad he will be missed by his son Skylar, his parents Art and Mim, sister Christine Sawyer (Mitch Henry) of Riverview, his brother Ari Sawyer (Amanda Canning) of Berry Mills several nieces and nephews and his dog Chance. Resting at Cadman Bowness Funeral Home (857-1110) 114 Alma St. Moncton where visiting hours will be held on Tuesday February 16th 2010 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. Funeral service will be held on Wednesday February 17th at 2 pm in Cadman Bowness Funeral Home followed by a reception in the reception area of the funeral home. Jean C. Alcorn 1926 – 2010 The death of Jean C. Alcorn, of The Rexton Lions Senior Citizen Residence, Rexton, occurred at her residence on Wednesday January 27, 2010. Born in Moncton she was the daughter of the late Barney and Daisy (Forsythe) Gould. In her younger years Jean was a member of the IODE as well she was also an accomplished oil painter. Prior to her retirement she was employed as a legal secretary with Ted White while he was City Solicitor with the City of Moncton. Jean is survived by her sons Bill of Miramichi and Jim of Vancouver; grandson Jason Lee of Saint John and granddaughter Allison Jean of Miramichi, she is also survived by her sisters Doris Boudreau of Moncton and Lorette Wilson of Quebec and one brother Garnett Gould of Riverview as well as several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents she was predeceased by her husband Donald and several brothers and sisters. Cremation has taken place. Visiting with the family will be held at Cadman Bowness Funeral Home 114 Alma Street Moncton on Saturday January 30, 2010 from 10 am to funeral time of 11:30 am followed by a reception in the family reception area of the funeral home. John David Moffatt 1930-2010
The death of John David Moffatt, husband of Doreen, of Moncton occurred at his residence on Sunday January 17th 2010. Born in Toronto, June 11, 1930, he was the son of the late Peter Arthur and Florella (Holder) Moffatt. John had been a member of St. James Anglican and St Phillips Anglican Churches where he was active in both church choirs; he was also a member of Chorale Allouette Choir. John had retired as President of Atlantic Business Forms, he was a former board member of the Junior Achievement, past president of the Moncton Rotary Club, a member of the Moncton Probus Club; the Fredericton Old Kootz Club; the Cains River Business Institute; Moncton Business Round Table; Associated Investments Inc; an honourary lifetime member of the PC Party of New Brunswick, he was also an avid bridge and piano player and an accomplished gourmet cook. In addition to his wife Doreen he is survived by two daughters Sarah of Kaslo BC; Lisanne (Martin) Mueller and their children Christiana and Meaghan of Calgary; two sons Peter (Debbie) and their children Louis, David and Sam of Halifax and David (Georgette) and their children Luke and Thomas of Riverview. The last surviving member of his immediate family John was predeceased by his parents and his sister Mary Lou Moffatt-King. There will not be any visiting hours prior to the funeral service which will be held on Saturday January 23 at 1:00 P.M. at St. Phillips Anglican Church 30 Lynch Street Moncton followed by a reception in the church hall. The family would like to thank the Extra Mural Services-Driscoll Unit as well as the Oncology Department at The Moncton Hospital for the excellent care provided to John during his illness. In lieu of flowers donations in Johns memory made to the Moncton SPCA would be appreciated by the family.
